Boom! Tune of the Day

Sanchez "Praise Jah Dub"

Sanchez - Number One (1989 Real Authentic Sound)

I had previously recorded Boom! Tune of the Day daily on Instagram, so I'll be recycling some of those tunes, as well as digging for new ones... enjoy!

Sanchez "Praise Jah Dub" (Original Boom! Tune Of The Day January 6, 2019).

Today's Boom! Tune of the Day is "Praise Jah Dub" by Sanchez, from the 1989 Real Authentic Sound LP, Number One.

This one is a the dub version of "Praise Jah," produced by Philip "Fatis" Burrell

The dub version of this album was released as a ROIR cassette, these tapes were often a domestic gateway to sounds coming from Jamaica, the U.K. and beyond and, in my youth, fed my growing interest in dub and dancehall.

This one is a duet by the well-known dancehall vocalists over a riddim which is a rework of "Karma Chameleon" by Culture Club.
