Today's Boom! Tune of the Day is "Poptones (Live)" by Public Image Limited, from the 1980 Virgin, live LP, Paris Au Printemps = Paris In The Spring. 




This one is a heavy dub-abstraction, recorded live in Paris. It features Martin Atkins on drums, who was born on this day in 1959.

This one is an avant garde punk-funk-dub cut from the former The Clash & Public Image, Ltd. guitarist, with production assistance from Adrian Sherwood.

Today's Boom! Tune of the Day is "Haile Unlikely" by The Electric Dread, from the 1978 Virgin single, Steel Leg V The Electric Dread.



This one is a punky reggae rarity from then P.I.L. bassist, Jah Wobble and guitarist Keith Levine along with a vocal appearance from Don Letts.

This one is a bubbling punk-dancehall hybrid from the single which preceded the 2012 LP, This Is PIL.

This one is also dedicated to Bonnie... my partner, significant other and better half, Happy Birthday!

Today's Boom! Tune of the Day is "Religion II" by Public Image Limited, from the 1978 Virgin Records LP, First Issue. 




  John Lydon's biting blasphemy is punctuated by Jah Wobble's dubby bass-line and Kieth Levene's grinding guitar.  This tune is one of my long-time favorites from P.I.L..
