Boom! Tune of the Day

Public Enemy "Louder Than A Bomb"

Public Enemy - It Takes A Nation Of Millions To Hold Us Back (1988 Def Jam Recordings)

I had previously recorded Boom! Tune of the Day daily on Instagram, so I'll be recycling some of those tunes, as well as digging for new ones... enjoy!

Public Enemy "Louder Than A Bomb" (Original Boom! Tune of the Day from July 4, 2017).

Today's Boom! Tune of the Day is "Louder Than A Bomb" by Public Enemy, from their 1988 Def Jam Recordings LP, It Takes A Nation Of Millions To Hold Us Back.

This one is one of the many crucial, conscious cuts from their masterpiece sophomore album, which just turned 32 years old. This is one of the most influential Hip-Hop, if not any genre, albums, to me. I was 16 years old at the time, but was changed for life by it.

I selected this particular tune today for Flava Flav's moving introduction...
"They claim we're products from the bottom of hell,
'cause the Black is back and it's bound to sell.
Picture us coolin' out on the 4th of July...
and if you heard we were celebratin',
that's a world wide lie..."
